Projector Lens Market Guide: Russia, Gulf, SE Asia

Lens buyers in different regions ask for different things. These notes summarise what we see in five markets. They are general guidance for importers and workshops, not a forecast.

Russia and cold LHD markets

• Long winters with snow and slush: many buyers prefer warmer light (4300–5000K) over 6000K+.
• Lenses and drivers must work in severe cold, down to about −40 °C.
• An older fleet of common Japanese, Korean and European cars is being upgraded, and Chinese brands are growing fast, so vehicle-specific plug-in kits with brackets and harnesses are in demand.
• A sharp, correctly aimed cut-off line matters for inspection.

Qatar and the Gulf

• Heat, sand and dust: heat dissipation, sealing and a clear warranty are key.
• Large SUVs and pickups (Land Cruiser, Patrol, Prado, Lexus LX and similar) dominate; strong high beams for desert driving are popular.
• Dual-colour fog lenses for sandstorms, dedicated brackets, and complete kits (lens + bracket + harness + sealant + instructions).

Indonesia

• Heavy rain and many poorly lit roads.
• MPVs and compact cars are common, and motorcycles create demand for 1.5-inch and 2.0-inch lenses.
• White + yellow dual-colour fog lenses and plug-in brackets sell well; short video demos help retail sales.

Vietnam

• Right-hand traffic (LHD vehicles), fog in the north and rain in the south.
• Dual-colour 3.0-inch fog lenses with brackets for popular Toyota, Ford and Mitsubishi models.
• Interest in ODM details such as blue-coated lens glass and custom brackets.

Malaysia

• Left-hand traffic (RHD vehicles): order lenses with an RHD cut-off.
• Rainy climate: 4300K or 5000K and dual-colour fog lenses are popular.
• Local brands and Japanese models lead the market; plug-and-play kits are preferred.
