Plug-and-Play vs Cut-in Projector Lenses

Non-destructive plug-and-play lenses (H7/H4/9006) versus cut-in lenses: sizes, tools, brackets and which suits your workshop or market.

ShinVea catalog lenses come in two installation types. The choice affects the workshop time, the risk to the original headlamp and the size of the lens.

What a cut-in job needs

Opening a headlamp needs a headlight oven, a hot-air blower and fresh sealant to close the housing again; a front locating plate helps align the lens. ShinVea supplies these tools and sealing materials, plus shrouds, dust covers and decoders, as part of the one-stop service.

Brackets and harnesses

Vehicle-specific brackets and wiring harnesses make both types faster to install and keep the beam aligned. Many markets also want ready kits (lens + bracket + harness + sealant + instructions) for popular vehicles.

Cut-off and aiming

Whatever the type, aim the lens so the cut-off line is level and on the correct side for the traffic direction (LHD or RHD). A correct cut-off avoids glare for other drivers and helps at vehicle inspection.
